• I’m running the latest version of WordPress 4.4 and I’m having an issue when specifying the number of posts that should appear on the blog page.

If I set the number to 1 post in wp-admin/Settings/reading it works fine unless I make a post a Sticky. Then it will show the Sticky post, plus the next post in the sequence. You can see the result on this test site – https://internetsquad.co.uk/magic-stuff/

If I remove the sticky option on the first post, the page will then show just the first post!

I’ve tried different themes, and deactivating all plugins, but the result is always the same.

Is this some sort of bug in 4.4 or am I missing something?

If checked, the sticky post will be placed at the top of the front page of posts.

In other words, if you have set the number of posts to 1 in setting, and also checked a sticky post, then the sticky post will be place in front of the “1” post.

Yes but now I have two posts on the blog page, not just one! I would have expected it just to show the sticky. I’m pretty sure previous versions of WP did this.
