E-mail scrambling

I was wondering how I can go about having my e-mail so that if a bot were to come across my webpage, it wouldn’t be able to take my e-mail and start spamming it. I know I can change all the text to unicode i believe? Right now, I have it set up so that a link to my e-mail address is set up in the links list. It doesn’t appear to want to leave it scrambled in the code, so should i go into the index.php file and edit it in there?
