    Hi!

I am in love with this plugin.

However, with the last update, tables has been “compressed” in comparision with the previous version, where tables used to be like “full width”.

I though I would find more people asking about this issue or new problem.

What can I do to have the tables as they use to be (centered or full width)?

    Thank you!

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

The latest update does not contain changes about the alignment. This has other reasons, I’m pretty sure.

Can you please post a link to the page with the table where this problem happens, so that I can take a direct look? Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hello Tobias!

    Thanks for your response.

    For example this page https://www.lyceumespanol.com/prices/

It is weird, I have your plugin from the first version and it never happened before.

    Best regards,
    Javier

    Hi Javier,

thanks for the link! That’s indeed weird, and it seems that this is related to the horizontal scrolling of the DataTables JS library.

As you are not using any of the other functions from that library, I suggest to take a different approach here: Please try unchecking the “Use DataTables” checkbox on the “Edit” screens of these tables and instead use the scroll mode of the Responsive Tables Extension from https://tablepress.org/extensions/responsive-tables/

    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

You were right! Once I unchecked “Use the following DataTables…” the problem was solved!

So just to inform for future users who has this unexpected change within the tables, just deactived all the Use Datatables (table by table) it will be ok again.

    Thanks a lot Tobias! ??

    Bye!

    Hi,

no problem, you are very welcome! ?? Good to hear that this helped!

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!

Thanks again for the great plugin.

Same issue for me, Tobias. An example is here https://www.mangameslost.com/end-of-regular-season-nhl-man-games-lost-and-tmitt-metrics-april-16-2015/ and you can see Table 1 and 3 are affected (width affected in different ways), but Table 2 is not (still full width)

I can confirm that unchecking ‘Enable horizontal scrolling’ in the table settings page fixes the issue. However, I have almost 850 tables I’d need to edit.

I haven’t tried the responsive plugin you mention, but again I have many hundreds of tables I’d have to update.

I’d almost prefer to roll back to the previous version until I find a better solution.

    Hi,

hhm, really strange then. I can only assume that something related to the Horizontal Scrolling has then be modified and is now maybe broken in the DataTables JS library…
Unfortunately, as I’m not the developer of that, I have no clue how to investigate that, so that we’d need to wait for an update of the JS library.

For you, instead of downgrading to TablePress 1.6.1, we should simply switch back to the previous version of the DataTables JS library. For that, please replace the contents of the /wp-content/plugins/tablepress/js/jquery.datatables.min.js file with those from https://raw.githubusercontent.com/TobiasBg/TablePress/ac4be9fd2aa3acfa11c167f9ec8eb4fe48cc5f32/js/jquery.datatables.min.js
That way, you can still benefit from the other bugfixes/enhancements in TablePress 1.7.

    Regards,
    Tobias
