• Hi Guys

I am having an issue with my wordpress site. It seems that I can’t load it over my wifi on any device but it works fine on my phone using 4g.Ijust keep getting the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function ff_wp_kses() in /home/nf032/public_html/wp-content/themes/nation/install/init.php on line 97

It only seems to happen when I install a custom theme I have downloaded from themeforest, so at first i thought this might be the issue, but when uploading them to another site they worked seamlessly and my web host can load it just fine so it must be something to do with me I guess.

I’ve tried clearing cache and cookies on my laptop, rebooting the website and reinstalling wordpress and uploading files via ftp but to no avail.

    Could anyone help me?

    Thank you

  • 1) wifi will make no difference – wordpress doesn’t know or care about it
    2) if the site works fine with one of the twenty-xxx themes (over wifi) then it is not a wordpress issue
    3) since you are using a themeforest premimum theme and the error is in thier code, you need to contact them for support since we don’t have access to the theme

I’m not sure. This is only when I’ve the theme installed using ftp. When I try to upload it through wordpress it says “are you sure you want to do this? try again”

the exact same file uploaded perfectly on another blog of mine and it doesn’t matter which theme I try to upload, the same thing happens.

Now you ave me confused. From your original post I was lead to understand that WordPress doesn’t work – i.e. you can’t get into the front end, but only when accessing it over wifi. So please answer the following questions
    1) does the front end of this site work using the twenty-fifteen theme?
    2) are the two sites you are checking on the same server?
    3) did you upload teh theme to the other site via WP or FTP?
    4) Try uploading the Atahualpa’ theme from the WP repository via WP on the site having the problem. Did it upload?

Sorry for the confusion, I am very confused myself.

    1) yes the site works fine using the twenty-fifteen theme. It’s only when i install a custom theme I have bought online when it doesn’t work, regardless of what theme this is. I have tried with more than 1.

    2) No they are not on the same server, or even with the same webhost. The site it works on is my own with GoDaddy and the site it doesn’t is my clients which is ADM-computing.

    3) I uploaded it through WP onto the other site and this worked fine.

    4) I installed the Atahualpa theme perfectly also via WP

The thing is that even with the theme uploaded, the site still works when I use the 4G connection on my phone, and the wen host can’t see any issues on their side either. It’s only when I connect using my home wifi connection.

the website that isn’t working is nellsflowers.co.uk if that helps at all.

Nothing to do with wifi, I have a hard wired internet cnnection and I get the same error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function ff_wp_kses() in /home/nf032/public_html/wp-content/themes/nation/install/init.php on line 97

since it is saying the function is undefined, I suspect that when you are doing the theme install, it is timing out.

Try this, download the theme zip to your computer and then try installing it within WP and click ‘Add New’ then select the upload button.

If this doesn’t work, you might want to check with the host and see if they see the install timing out

I get a different error uploading that way. It get’s all the way to 100% and the says “are you sure you want to do this? try again”

the web host has suggested that perhaps it isn’t compatible with their servers, so maybe the only solution here is to switch to a new web host or just pick a theme that works. Annoying but not much I can do about it I suppose.

Thank you for the help anyway
