    Hi,

I am facing a problem for which I request your support.

This has got to do with logging in. I already have a separate page titled – “Welcome to our Member Area” exclusively dedicated to post-logging in activities. However, after logging in, the user is taken to the backend portion of the site, instead of the front-end portion of the site.

How to get around this problem?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • You need to go to General Options -> Member Profile Modifications and set Redirect members away from the Default Profile Panel? to Yes

    Hi KTS915,

The setting in the “Member Profile Modifications” tab is as instructed. Yet, after logging in, S2Member redirects the user to the default profile panel.

    Thank you for the suggestion.

    Hi again,

This problem exists irrespective of the browser used – Chrome or Firefox.

Have you cleared all caches, whether plugins, server, or browser?

Maybe something is causing that redirection overriding s2’s setting. Could you try these? https://s2member.net/troubleshooting-tips-21

    Hi KTS915,

I did as you suggested. Still no dice.

Sorry to hear that! You will need to work through Cristian’s list.

Cristan, I deactivated all the plugins, except S2 Member. After logging in, the user is redirected to the backend.

I am using the latest version of WP, am not using BP, and am using the right set of pages expected by the S2 member plugin.

Can I be pointed to a fully functional site which exploits all the features of S2 member to the hilt? Also, are there themes designed exclusively to take advantage of S2 member? I know of Theme Forest, but got lost in the maze of themes it has on offer.

After logging in, the user is redirected to the backend.

    Logging in as what role?

As for themes, any well-coded them will work with s2Member. I use a couple from the wordpresss.org repo, have custom built several myself, and have used themes from ThemeForest too. (I must admit, I’d steer clear of using ThemeForest themes again though: they might look pretty, but most of them are just so bloated and slow.)

    Hi,

I logged in as admin, and checked the “Role” field as provided in “Users” >> “All Users” >> “Role”. I tick-marked the “Role” field to “S2 Member Level 1”. After saving, I was instantly able to access the features which were hitherto fore unavailable.

This brings me to the question – What needs to be done so that I do not have to manually go about changing the value of the field “Role” after every registration.

I am trying to get in touch with kts915 for the services they can provide. But contact details are not available on their profile.

@yidamweb Your contacts is missing too, so nobody can help… ??

    @yidamweb,

I don’t have my details there because I’m not here to drum up business. I’m not even a developer — just a user of s2Member. I’d suggest you contact krumch or Cristian.

As for your specific issue, the question is how have you been registering members so far. s2Member does not limit the access of admins, otherwise you could lock yourself out. So if you’ve only been logging in as an admin, that explains everything.

You need to have new members register with either the regular WP registration form (in which case they’ll be free subscribers at level 0) or else use the PayPal buttons that s2Member provides to set up a means by which users can pay to register for other levels. (Or you can upgrade to Pro if you’d prefer to have registration forms rather than buttons, or if you prefer Stripe to PayPal.)

Thanks, s2Member friends, for all your help. I am a pro member too – that’s the reason I am motivated to get a return on my investment in this plugin! (Krumch, I just now dropped you a mail.)
