Remove srcset from slider

    Alright, so I updated to WordPress 4.4 and srcset started adding it’s own resolution images to a full width slider. My slider fetches the image over:

    echo the_post_thumbnail();

    I want to disable srcset for my slider, but I have no clue how to do it. None of the solutions I found worked.
