On save, title is replaced with username

  • One of my users is having this problem when she edits existing content. It happens on both pages and posts. When she saves the entry it replaces the title with her username. When she tries to change it back she’s only successful about half the time.

    Most strange of all, this is happening on both a wordpress.com site and our custom install, which makes me think it is something in her browser as opposed to something in WP. I’m asking here in case someone has encountered something similar.

    Have you tried:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the unedited default Twenty Sixteen theme for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
