    Hi,

Great plugin. I’m using it to set up a events on a website for a client of mine that offers courses in the areas of Real Estate, Mortgage, and Appraising. I’ve used the list shortcode to display a list of upcoming courses on the sidebar, and also to display list tables on certain pages that show course schedules. For some reason, it is displaying events 1-2 days after they end, even though it is set to hide events from the list after they are considered passed. I’ve also made sure the time-zone is correct, that events are considered passed as soon as they start, and that events are auto-deleted after 24 hours of them ending.

I’m a little bit confused as to why this is happening, so I’d greatly appreciate some assistance. Thanks in advance!

Are you referring to the Settings > Event Organiser > General settings? If so, beaware that shortcodes are configured differently – i.e. via their attributes (see docs.wp-event-organiser.com/shortcodes/events-list)

    Oh duh.

Apologies, I should have realized that by now. Thanks for pointing that out to me, though. I assumed that the shortcode would abide by the settings that you fill out in the directory that you specify, but all I had to do was put the “showpastevents=false” attribute into the shortcode.

    The more you know, right?

You can use the event_start/end_before/after attributes too to fine tune what you want displayed.

The shortcodes should probably be default to the settings, but changing that now break sites which are expecting for the shortcode to display all events.

In the future that default behaviour may change, but it will be a major version change (x.0.0) – but not 3.0.0 (due in January 2016).
