Moving site from online to local and back

  • On your local server what kind of tools are you running such as XAMPP, MAMP, ServerPress, etc.. Can you browse out to a tool like phpmyadmin on the box? If so you may need to find the credentials its using, which can usually be found in the interface or the php configuration file.

    Hi

    I’m using XAMPP.

    I would like to use the same credentials for username and passwort.
    Only the host has changed.

    When I run PHPmyadmin I’m not sure where to find the credentials.

    I will have to change them then in wp-config.php?

    After you create the DB user then you should be able to connect to the Database from step 1 of the installer, after that the installer will do the rest for you…
