When I select a Featured Image in a Church theme post today, this featured image, no matter how I re-size or adjust, hijacks the default main page Header Image and completely obscures it.
The featured image displays properly in the post as it should be, but unless I remove it, the default header image won’t display at all.
I have never had this issue until the Theme and WP update today and all past posts display correctly.

I updated the Church theme today (December 13th) the issue persists.

Can you give me some CSS replacement code to solve this problem??

    Thanks,

    Chris

Can you post your site url?

I don’t see the issue. Your header image is different from post featured image. Please clear your browser cache

I’m actually having the same issue that the featured image of my last post becomes my header image. When I remove the featured image from my last post, my original header image is back. Having a featured image in other posts than the last one doesn’t bring this issue.

The issue started when I upgraded WordPress from 4.3.1 to 4.4, while running Church Theme version 0.7.3. After upgrading the Church Theme version to 0.7.4, the issue was still there (even after clearing the browser cache).

    HEADER IMAGE NOT DISPLAYING
Hello Han: PLEASE SOME HELP. Header image not displaying. I get “While you can crop images to your liking after clicking Add new image, your theme recommends a header height of 0 pixels”
    my site akupunkturmalmo.com
Does not appear in the landing page BUT it does in the others
    PLEASE WHAT TO DO?

I also have this problem, updating the theme is not an option, as its just too much customized, any help as of which code to change ?

I just upgraded to WP 4.4.1, hoping this was just a bug in WP 4.4, but the issue’s still there. Strange that the issue only appears when adding a featured image to the last post.

Try to setup a featured image on your blog page. Then, all your posts will use that featured image as header.

Not sure what you mean by “set up a featured image on my blog page”. Can you please explain in more detail what exactly you’re referring to?

I have a header image that only shows on the main page (and I only want it on that main page). I’m sometime adding featured images to blog posts. When adding a featured image to the last post, that featured image “hijacks” the header image on my main page.

I am still having the same issue as I posted 1 month ago, same as the other posters to this forum.
The problem seems pretty clear to all of us: setting a featured image in a new post then becomes the header image. The original header is no longer visible on the index page/home page. It is replaced by the featured image in the post.
Can you please kindly give us a code fix for it or make the necessary change back to how the post featured image behaved normally until a month ago??

    Same issue here!!!!!!!

    My header is gone!!!

Now on each post, the header is replaced by that post’s featured image.

I need my header to appear on EVERY page AND post just like it always has before it broke.

This is terrible. It has rendered my beautiful site into an ugly mess.

    Please fix ASAP.

Actually, from what Han (the author of the Church Theme) wrote about, “a new version has been submitted to fix the issue. It will be available for update once approved”. Just hoping this new version will get approved soon.

His post about the new fixed version was a month ago. No fix yet.

Church was updated Dec 12th. Seems that was the update that was supposed to fix the issue. As others stated here, they tried that update to no avail.

I looked at other forums and it looks like his other child themes also suffered the same problem. Must have been a problem with a standard code he used for all his themes. In the other forums it looks like fixes were issued and the problem resolved.

I don’t know why this hasn’t happened for the Church theme.
