Feature image title on rollover

    How do you get the feature image title to show on the rollover in a post? The feature image doesn’t show in the post editor so I can’t use the “advanced options/image title attribute” like I can to create the title rollover for other images I insert into the post (click image, select edit image, go to advanced options). I just want the name of the “feature image” bird to show on the rollover like it does for other images in the body of the post..nothing fancy. No plugin needed. BTW, I’ve found that entering the “title” in the media library image descriptive area does not mean the “title” you enter will show on the rollover once you insert the image. Why is that box there? Thanks.

    instead of using the suggested way, you could simply try to add this to functions.php of your (child) theme:
