polylang prevents Jetpack contact formfrom working at all

    Hi,

    I’ve installed polylang on a site to provide bilingual functionality: English and German. I also use Jetpack contact form on the site – for both languages.

    The contact form was not working at all on either the English or German page. No emails were being sent, despite email checker plugin confirming that the WordPress setup was correct, and no feedback was being shown in the dashboard. After deactivating polylang, however, the form works fine.

    There’s clearly a JavaScript conflict or something else which prevents the contact form from sending and working – the form simply resets and no message is shown. Is this a known issue and is there a workaround?

    I also tried Caldera Forms and had the same issue – the form would not send and refresh, but would freeze. Both issues point to some sort of AJAX issue. Nothing is shown in the console log.

    Thanks Augustin, but you can probably also understand that I’d like to know why this is not working and be able to use the existing investment I’ve made in installing and setting things up – and not have to spend too much time reworking the site several times while I work through different plugin options.

    Anybody got this working and have any tips what the problem could be?

    PS: I’m NOT looking for a plugin that translates content automatically – I simply need a plugin that supports the concept of multilingual sites and pages with different languages, and provides a language switcher. Polylang does this. It just breaks the Jetpack contact form

    After just updating Jetpack, the form has magically started working. Hoping it stays that way as I have no idea what the conflict was!
