    Hi,

When I Googled “Japanese Cat Names” I noticed that my site (https://catnamescity.com/) displays one of my tags titled “Japanese Female Cat Names” in the search results. It displays in this way:

“Tag Archives: Japanese Female Cat Names – Cat Names City”

How can I make it so the words “Tag Archives” are not displayed and only “Japanese Female Cat Names – Cat Names City” is displayed.

I tried looking at the tag title format in All in One SEO, but I couldn’t figure it out. Do I need to change the CSS or can this be done from the All in One SEO settings? I am using the Mantra Theme.

You cannot control the titles and descriptions shown in Google. Google will display what it wants to display. All you can do is influence what they display by setting good titles and descriptions that are unique and are within the character limit that Google specifies. It’s then up to Google as to whether they want to use your title and description or something else.

Thank you Steve for your reply.

I understand that I cannot control the titles and descriptions Google chooses, but I can recommend, right? Isn’t that the idea behind the Title Settings in the All in One SEO plugin?

Just like I can choose a preferred page title format, post title format, etc., I am wondering if there is a way I can remove the words “Tag Archives” as my preferred tag title format.

    Thanks.

Yes, you can influence Google by setting good titles and descriptions, it’s then up to Google as to whether they use them or not.
