    Hi,

I have a website (elimstat.com) that uses variable and simple products underneath product categories, and wonder how you suggest I get the product category data.

I noticed that in Google Analytics under Conversions > Product Performance > tab Product Category (Enhanced eCommerce) that simple products return the category level as it is laid out on the website, but that if someone buys a variable product the category that gets reported to Analytics is the description of the variation.

    (1) Do you plan on adding a product category level that reports the category for variable products? It looks that there are by default 5 product category levels that can be set. That would be great if in woo commerce i could set those in the integration > google analytics tab .

    (2) Also, do you plan on utilizing product lists? It appears there is only one product list in my reports.

It would make sense for product categories to be reported as product categories, as well as product lists, to allow more detailed analysis.

There’s a very good explanation with code samples here.
