Italics within widgets and sidebars

    I want to do something which I thought would be very simple but seems not to be. I want to italicise a section of text in my main sidebar – not all of it (I can do that) but just certain words. Is it possible? Thanks

  • Yes. If you don’t know how to code HTML, you can just compose the text widget as if it were a draft Post, use all the buttons as appropriate.

    example html
    Put “em” tags” around the word or words you want in italic.

    <em>this text is italic</em>

    Of course! Why didn’t i think of that! Actually what I hadn’t realised is that you could put the html thingies around ordinary text – I’ve been trying to find my widget texts in the editor but couldn’t find i . Huge thanks. That’s made my day!
