Possible to replace footnote arrow with Fontawesome icon?

  • Hi, this is truly a fantastic plugin which has managed to save our university dept hours and hours of Word to WordPress conversion time!

    An issue we have come across is with the up arrow symbol (↑) used for footnote links. After they are added to a post we can no longer save any updates to that post.

    Ideally, I’d like the up arrows automatically converted to this <i class=”fa fa-arrow-circle-up”></i>. Is this possible?

    Hello,

    Thanks for the kind words. Do you have any idea why the post can’t be saved once it contains the up arrow?

    At the moment, I’m afraid there isn’t a way to control what gets inserted for the footnote backlinks. The most likely possibility is to allow it to be customised in a style map that can be embedded into a Word document, but I’m not sure that I’ll have time to add support in the near future.
