I’ve added a shortcode to a text widget, so the share icons in the sidebar link to the home page, regardless of the page you are on.

I’ve added Twitter, Facebook and Google +

    I have the following issues:

Twitter – no image; is it possible to add an image?
Facebook – displays featured image of last post
Google + – displays featured image of first post

For Facebook and Google + is it possible to either specify the image that is displayed, or alternatively to have no image displayed?

    Thanks

You can specify the image attribute with the URL of the image, like this:
    [feather_share url="https://example.org" image="https://example.org/image.jpg"]

Keep in mind, Facebook and G+ might ignore the parameter, the best way is to set a featured image on the homepage (like your logo) or alternatively use an OpenGraph plugin that allows you to specify the image associated to the homepage.

    Thanks.

    A couple of questions:

the best way is to set a featured image on the homepage (like your logo)

    How do I do this?

or alternatively use an OpenGraph plugin that allows you to specify the image associated to the homepage.

I thought OpenGraph was a Facebook thing. What about G+?

    Cheers

OpenGraph is a standard created by Facebook but I think it is now used by multiple social networks / site crawlers.

To set featured images, locate the “Screen Options” button at the top of the edit screen, click it to open the screen options; in there you should see a checkbox for “Featured Image”, just check it. Now you should have an extra box in the editing interface called “Featured Image”, with a “Set featured image” link, just click it and select your image.
