    NextGEN Gallery by Photocrati 2.1.15

Unfortunately, I don’t know the version I was on. I should NEVER have upgraded. I know better! So many issues have arisen aimlessly upgrading plugins and a couple times even WP itself!

    Site: https://onlineautomation.com

It’s very obvious. You can see the base image is positioned to the left where the photos WERE, and now they’re shifted to the right, covering our webform! I need help with this or just a way to revert back to an older version, I’m guessing one around a couple years ago.

I thought it was the links that showed up…[Show as slideshow] then after I removed that one I had to remove this one [Show picture list]. BUT the formatting space those were taking up, didn’t revert back so the photos would be able to shift back.

Please let me know what to do.

@wittonline – it’s actually very important that you keep WordPress, plugins and your theme all up to date. It’s not only about new features, but more importantly security improvements to better protect your site from hackers.

Now, being that WordPress is open source, that means there is always a risk of conflict between plugins or between a theme and plugin. All these elements are being maintained by separate developers. I hope this helps clarify.

Now, it may be that our latest update included some code that doesn’t work well with your present theme. If you have any updates available, I’d suggest installing those. Also check for a plugin conflict by temporarily deactivating all plugins, and reactivate NextGEN Gallery only. Clear your browser cache and reload. Does that help?

Yes, but I’ve had trouble with your upgrades since 1.9

I think I see why now. See the folder structure for 1.9 and 2.0 below, they are not close and your newest upgrade is just like 2.0 below.

I don’t know if you saw the web site before, but the frame of the image rotator was shifted almost 2 inches to the right overlapping our web form. This is exactly what happens each time I’ve tried to update your plugin. For now I just went back to the 1.9.13 backup and it’s fine, but yes it does create security issues, unfortunately, so we’ll have to look for a different solution at some point. Trouble is, I’m not the site dev, so it’s a struggle.

    Any insight would be great.

@wittonline – There are many differences between NextGEN Legacy (version 1.19.13 and older) and NextGEN Gallery, especially now over two years later.

I can only suggest you continue to try updating to the current release as we no longer support NextGEN Legacy releases.

    Thanks!
