    I updated to 3.03 and now Meta title and description are missing.

    Under “content analysis” it mentions meta descr as “No meta description has been specified” but there’s no way to for me to add/edit it. Its gone.

    I emailed support, but their answer was useless. Basically said to search the knowledge base, which I’ve done and not found the answer.

    You need to either clarify where/how to edit the Meta Descr or else update this version to include a clear location for that editing (like the prior version had). This is why I hate updating plugins! It was better before! Just go back to what it was!

    In the Yoast module you now need to use the Snippit Editor located at the top. If you hover the mouse in the right hand end of each field (page/post title, slug, meta description) you’ll see one of those pencil icons appear. Click on it and the field becomes editable.

    Not a very intuitive change is the general consensus.

    Alternative solution:

    Open this file:
    wordpress-seo/inc/class-wpseo-meta.php

    Find ‘metadesc’

    replace the whole array with the following:

    ‘metadesc’ => array(
    ‘type’ => ‘textarea’,
    ‘title’ => ”, // Translation added later.
    ‘default_value’ => ”,
    ‘class’ => ‘metadesc’,
    ‘rows’ => 2,
    ‘description’ => ”, // Translation added later.
    ‘help’ => ”, // Translation added later.

    I am not sure that I understand the answer from barnez. When I add a blog post I see “no meta tags” as the error but I can not find any place on that page where there is a reference to meta tags that can be added edited. I go to the Yoast plug in page and the only option I see there is to remove meta tags, not how to add them.

    yeah, i get all the answers above, but YOAST STILL PENALIZES YOUR SEO RATING! That is STUPID! They tell you, even though you’ve added in the snippet, that there’s still no meta description. STUPID STUPID STUPID click here to see a screen shot of what i’m talking about

    Sure, but it is just for 1 Language. Before the update, it was possible, to create more meta descriptions for each language. After the update, it isnt possible anymore.

    Please fix it!!!!

    Not only am I having the same problem as the rest but the shortlink is not appearing on my site either. I have followed the instructions per the above response but it didn’t help. In addition I do have the focus word in the first paragraph but it still did not score correctly. They need to fix this.
