    Hi,

I manage a site for somebody else who does not have, (or want), a WordPress.com account, (the very thought of going in the back end of her site terrifies her). We want to get it so that Publicize publishes her posts and new products on her Twitter account, with the problem I’m having being that using Publcize, (through my WordPress.com account), will only allow it to post on my Twitter account.

Can somebody please give me a work around for this?

I can think of 2 work arounds:

    • You create the WordPress.com account for her, using an alias of your own email address. Create the account, link that WordPress.com account to the account you’ve set up on the local site, and then ask for the Twitter account credentials and make the Publicize connection yourself. Once you’ve done so, go to https://wordpress.com/me/account and change the account email address to your client’s.
    • Ask for the Twitter account credentials and make the Publicize connection yourself, using your own account on the site, linked to your own WordPress.com account. At the end of the Publicize connection process, share that Publicize connection with all other post authors on the site, so Publicize will be triggered even if you’re not the one publishing posts.

I would vote for the first solution, as the second work around has some drawbacks:

    • If someone ever decides to delete your account on that site, they’ll lose the Publicize connection.
    • If someone wants to deactivate that connection, they’ll need to ask you, or delete your account altogether.

I hope this clarifies things! Let me know if you have more questions.
