• I upgraded my pluging towards the latest version. I seem to have lost the posibility to create a site map, where my posts are mapped per category. Did I miss an option, or?

    Example of previous feature:
    Category 1
    -Post 1
    -Post 3
    Catergory
    -Post 4
    -Post 5
    Category 3
    -Post 2
    -Post 6

If the Categories could then be used in combination with the order and orderby features, that would be the ultimate result ;).

    Hi,

To add this feature back in will need a new shortcode (something like [simple-sitemap-group]). I’m currently working on this but it is a little complicated to be able to display lists of posts from post taxonomy terms AND be able to order the terms and posts in any way you like.

Before it was a pretty simplistic output. You didn’t have any control over the order. Current thinking is to add this in the Pro version so you can show posts from any post type and any taxonomy terms, and order them however you wish. Plus, even be able to show the results in columns and even tabs.

Providing a Pro version of this plugin means it will be regularly maintained and updated with new features for a long time to come. It should be ready in a couple of weeks.

You also have the option to use the previous version of the plugin if you wish to retain the group functionality as it was.

    Hope that helps!

    David

    Hello,

I have exactly the same problem, it was very good and now it is useless.
Is there any way to get / restore the previous version, I think it was 1.65 or 1.7

    Thanks a lot,

    wimb

    Hello,

I’ve found the previous version (1.65) in the svn, installed it and all is OK.

    Thanks a lot,

    wimb

@sannebuurma, @wimb: I will be adding this functionality back in the free version for posts.

And in the Pro version you will be able to do the same for custom post types too, and can sort via any custom taxonomy associated with the custom post type.

@sannebuurma: You will be able to sort the post taxonomy titles and the posts associated with each taxonomy too, which is much more flexible than the previous version.

Hi David, I am so glad you are going to add back the categories to Simple Sitemaps. This was one of my favorite plugins because of its simplicity. I installed it and it was done.

I look forward to seeing your pro version as for some of my sites I would love to have some sort of a control of how I display the various posts and pages in a sitemap.

But I have one suggestion, if I may. Many people are not very techie savvy so it would help us if you would create simple videos for using the pro plugin for different parameters. Thank you

@ebizdame This has now been added back into the FREE version using a new shortcode [simple-sitemap-group]. You can order category names as you like, as well as the posts listed under each category. This makes it pretty flexible.

This update will be included in the next plugin release which will be within a couple of weeks to coincide with the Pro version release.

Thanks for the suggestion for the Pro version.
