• Hi there,
after a disaster with trying to upgrade i thought i would play about first to see where i went wrong last time.
Anyway, I created a new install of wordpress in a folder called test and installed the back up hack. Then from my actual blog I backed up the database and the wordpress files. I then took these two files and put them into the back up folder of the new “test” blog. I then clicked the restore databse in teh test blog. it said it worked but everything was exactly the same….ie the posts from my real site were not there.
Have i totally misunderstood how to do this?
I thought I could just back up my files using the back up hack put in a new install of wordpress and then put in the files from the backup?
