Can't save changes using Page Builder
-
In Page Builder after making the changes I hit save. Then at Publish I hit Update. If I choose preview, my changes are definitely there. Yet when I go to my website the changes are not there.
I tried deactivating all my plugins and going back to Page Builder and hitting save and update again to no avail. I have the latest WordPress 4.3.1. Please tell me how I can do this.
I’m new to WordPress. An SEO company put my website together, but this is the first time I’ve tried to make any changes.

Hi Gerry
Sorry to hear about the hassle.
Does the same problem occur if you don’t use Preview? If you make a change and then hit Update and then check the live site, is the change reflected?
Are you using a caching plugin? Have you tried clearing the caching plugin’s cache?
Last night I left the edit page open and all my tabs are saved. This morning when I rebooted, I see that the edits I made are still there. I went to the text edit mode to see my changes and then hit save and hit update without going to preview and still no changes are saved.
I don’t’ know anything about a caching plugin, possibly I have one and need to clear the cache. How do I proceed with that?
Right now all my plugins are deactivated and I have 11 and here they are:

WordPress SEOIt isn’t possible to shift between the Page Builder tab and the Visual/Text tabs. Page Builder prompts with a warning when you try to make that change. On any given page or post you’ll need to choose between using the regular Visual/Text tabs OR Page Builder. If you move out of Page Builder it should be a once off move.
W3 Total Cache
That’s a caching plugin. Here is how you can clear its cache:
I think you’re right about the cache.
When I click on Dashboard and look at all the tabs on the left. There is no tab for Performance under Settings. How can I get that to show up?
When you got to Plugins is W3 Total Cache activated? It will need to be activated to clear it’s cache.
I activated it and the Performance tab showed up. It says The plugin is currently enabled in community mode.
The empty all caches is greyed out, I can’t click on it. All the empty cache options are greyed out. I did click on Perform a compatibility check. It seems it’s ok.
So how do I get the empty all caches to show up?
,Under W3 cache settings I found: toggle all caching types on or off – I turned all caching types on and was able to click on empty alL caches and miinfy cache.I still am not getting update to work.
I’m not sure if this message means anything in regard to this, but I see this at the top of the W3 cache settings page.
New Relic is not running correctly. The plugin has detected the following issues:
PHP module is not enabled.
PHP agent is not enabled.
API Key is invalid.
Account ID is not configured.
Application ID is not configured. Enter/Select application name.
License key could not be detected. Please review the settings.

Also I see this:
A configuration issue prevents CDN from working: The “Authorization key” and “Replace default hostname with” field cannot be empty. You need to select / create a pull zone. Specify it here.To speed the test up I recommend deleting W3 Total Cache for the moment. This can be done from Plugins.
There is no red delete text near W3 total cache like all the other pluggins have. Instead there is a long list of fixes and details. Here’s a portion of what I see:
W3 Total Cache

In WordPress in general you need to de-activate a plugin before you can delete it.
Thanks for your patience with a newbie. Ok it’s deleted. I’m still not getting the update to work. What next?
No problem.
Have you tried going to a page that’s using Page Builder, editing a widget with new content, saving and checking the front end?
What I did was edit a different page that has a YouTube video with some text right above it. I simply added a space between You and Tube – hit save and update. Now everything is showing up including the original edit that I was trying to update. So good job, I’ll save all of what you said. I feel I’ve learned a lot from this experience.
The only problem is now the page has lost some formatting. Instead of each hyperlink starting a new line it’s all jumbled together. When I did the edit I added the link for TalentRaters, but I also deleted the first 2 hyperlink entries under that.
I have a dual website (Secular + Christian music) so much the the info is repeated. So if you would go to the edited URL and see the jumbled format
https://gprecordingstudio.com/alleluia-christian-music-productions/clients-websites/#other-music
Then go to this URL and see the unjumbled format, but without the edits that I made.

Do you think this is because the W3 Cache plugin is deleted and I need to reinstall it? Or is it because I accidently deleted some formatting code?
Can you advise me on how to fix this? I do have all these website files saved on my computer, so I could easily do the edit again
Glad to hear you’ve been making solid progress ??
It looks like all of the break tags are missing, this has caused the text to lose it’s formatting.
I’m not sure you’re using SiteOrigin Page Builder though. I think you’re using Elegant Themes own Page Builder plugin.
Normally, with our Page Builder I’d recommend cloning the page that has the correct formatting. Perhaps ET Page Builder has functionality like that.
Hope you’re able to resolve.
I really appreciate all your help in resolving this. If it’s not too much trouble, please answers the several questions below, so I can proceed.
This page we’ve been trying to update is essentially my Links page. It has first my clients websites and then link exchange websites. When I deleted 2 outdated links, could that have caused the break tags to get deleted? Or was it when I added the new link? I did these in the “Visual” mode. Or was it something in the process we used to solve this updating problem?
Can you tell me how I can figure out if I’m using SiteOrigin Page Builder? I don’t see it or Elegant Themes Page Builder plugin listed in the list of my 11 plugins below.

WordPress SEOI saved all of my WordPress website files a month or 2 ago and this is the first change I’ve made, so I can replace the files that relate to the small changes I’ve done (I’ve added 2 lines of text) or a more extreme method would be to replace all the WordPress files and start all over with this small edit.
But I need to have a grasp on why I lost the formatting and how to prevent that in the future. I’m used to working in the “text” mode with HTML, so if I need to copy and paste formatting that’s ok too. I just need to know what it looks like.
Do I need to reinstall W3 cache? Or should I use a different plugin that does the same thing? I’m not even sure what W3 cache does.
Sorry for all the questions, but these are important to proceed.
