• Hi,

Since i’ve installed WP Mail Bank to use e-mailing by SMTP the sender address from a contact form is always the address configured in WP Mail Bank. Normally this is the address filled in in the contact form. Probably something has been overwritten.

How can I make sure that the sender address from the contact form is the e-mail address inserted in the form itself? I saw someone with the same question on WP Mail Bank support forum and WP Mail Bank redirected this person to the contact form developer.

Thank you in advance for the support.

  • I’ll post the relevant part of the article.

    Solution (TLDR)

If you’re not using any SMTP plugin, or you are using an SMTP plugin that does not support the Envelope From, then there is no solution for you. You simply can not use your visitor’s email address as your From.

If you are using Postman SMTP, then your account email address is always used as the Envelope From, allowing your Contact Form to specify your visitor’s email address as the Message From. Just make sure the Postman option (in Manually Configure > Message > Message From) “Prevent plugins and themes from changing this” is unchecked.

There is one small but. Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo do NOT allow a different Message From and they will overrule Postman’s change. Other services, like Mandrill*, allow it. YMMV.
