[Theme Customizr] Posts on Page best practice

First of all thank you for this outstanding and consistent theme and active community. I already learned a lot starting as a wordpress noob shortly.
But still wondering about 1 thing which is showing a category post list after some introduction content on a page which can have individual URL path fitting into the site hierarchy e.g. https://www.domain.com/company/jobs showing the latest jobs category posts but also showing some title, introduction paragraph, maybe images before.

When reading a lot in customizr forum mainly coming from the following 2 topics I have tried out a lot and I am still wondering if a custom template is needed or if I can also achieve this via hooks and actions in the functions.php of my child theme only without a custom theme?

So far I could “just” achieve this via reusing and customizing a provided template in the mentioned posts above but for keeping the future maintenance low I wonder if can achieve it without a custom template.
