    I probably should have mentioned that I’m running the latest version of everything, have signed out and quit my browser, and nothing changed upon logging in again.

    Multi-site or single install? I haven’t tested it in a multi-site environment. Oh, and you only see your own items, but the configuration should be site-wide.
