site tab squeezing titles

    The tabs for my site at the top of the browser menu have shown that many of my pages are squeezing the title of the page with the site name. So for example, the tab at the top of the window will read: “AboutSea Level Center” when it should read: “About | Sea Level Center”…it only does this with some pages.

    My site is slsc.fiu.edu, and my theme is Ultra. I haven’t been able to find where to correct this in any of the theme settings (or elsewhere).

    Thanks for reaching out.

    Can you perhaps check your title tag settings in Platinum SEO plugin. I haven’t used the plugin before so I’m not sure where to look.

    A quick test you could try to ensure this is the right place to look is to temporarily de-activate the plugin and re-check the title tag.

    On a side note, try the following in your Custom CSS plugin (looks like you have one) to remove the padding below the slider on the home page:

    /* Home */

.home.siteorigin-panels-home .site-content {
	padding-top: 0;
}

    If you go to Platinum SEO in your main WordPress menu and click Platinum SEO (sub item), you’ll see a Page Title field. The default is:

    %page_title% | %blog_title%

    Can you perhaps confirm that the values entered into this field are formatted correctly?

    Thank you for the tip on adjusting the space below the slider! I had already given up on thinking that I could fix that…

    The page title field in Platinum SEO appeared to be correct, matching what you specified. I deactivated the plugin, and that fixed it.
