The links are still being opened in the same widnow

99% of the links on your site are to https://freesmi.by. They will not open in a new wind because they are in the same domain.

I am testing with the latest Firefox and Chrome.

There is one link to https://ria.ru/defense_safety/20151021/1305645644.html that when I click it will open in a new window.

https://vkontakte.ru/share.php?url=https://bit.ly/1XjGTxA opens in a new window.

What links don’t open in a new window?

XHTML pages will not open in a new window in some browsers. If you have an HTML 5 page it will work.

Some browsers may be touchy about this, but I was able to get a new page when I clicked on the external links.

I’m using chrome. Actually non of the external links open in a new tab (including the links mentioned above). Please see the video where I recorded the issue https://youtu.be/t-9Bq7lUUPs

I believe that it does not work for you.

The links on your site open in new window for me in Chrome Firefox and IE.

It has to be something about your browser. Try it with another browser.

I have read that other plugins using javascript can confuse chrome. If you have any link trackers or similar javascript then that might be a problem.

Some pop-up blockers can interfere with target=directives.

Yes, the problem is with Chrome. It works fine with other browsers.

Dear Keith, first off I want to tell you I just ordered “Error Message Eyes” and I am really looking forward to reading it after seeing your reviews and reading the “look inside”.

However, this question is about your plugin. I have installed it here: https://sheridanhcs.com/compliance/human-resources/ which is on WP 4.6 and it does not seem to be opening PDFs in a new window. The site is password protected. I am not sure how you can contact me for the password so you can see what I mean but I thought I would ask if perhaps I am missing something in the “settings”. All I see is one option: Open file types such as PDF, MP3, images, archives and video in a new window with a check box beside it to enable or disable. I have checked it and saved settings. Thanks for any help you can give.

Please download the beta test plugin at https://www.blogseye.com. I think I fixed this in the version on the website.
