I recently attempted to add a new domain to my website, but after realizing I entered it in the wrong place, WordPress kicked me out of my dashboard, and I haven’t been able to get in ever since. When I try to log in, I get a 404: Page not found – This error is generated when there was no web page with the name you specified at the web site.

    My website is https://www.whitemarshislandwoodworks.net/
I try logging in at https://www.whitemarshislandwoodworks.net/wp-login.php, but that’s when i receive the error message.

Please help! Need to complete a domain change and get my site back up and running!

Thanks, esmi, but I’m still confused, as I barely even know basic coding. What does the article you provided mean by “It is possible to set the site URL manually in the wp-config.php file”?

It means that you can edit the wp-config.php file currently on your server by downloading it, opening it in a plain text editor, adding the lines suggested, saving the file and then re-uploading it.

Forgive me, but I’m young and digitally challenged. Where would I find the wp-config.php file on my server?

In the root directory of your WordPress install.

So, my wordpress install should be saved somewhere on my computer, and I can access the wp-config.php from that install?

No, WordPress is on your site’s server – the hosting space that you purchased on a remote server. You will need to use FTP or whatever file management application your host provides to access the WordPress files & folders.
