    Themes shouldn’t have custom registration forms. I recommend not using the particular form and possibly not even using the theme.

    WordPress fires specific hooks that plugins like this one rely on in order to work. This is only going to happen on the core WordPress registration form.

    I would love to not use the theme, unfortunately the parent theme is the JobRoller theme and it provides the core functionality for our site (the developers should really have made it a plugin but they choose to do it as a theme for some reason).

    Anyway I simply added your fields to the registration form in my child theme and now the honeypot is working great, hopefully this will stop the spam registrations.
