Levels of interest

I don’t know if this is the plugin I’m looking for but maybe you could answer this question very quickly to me ??

So here is what we have in mind. We essentially want members to be able to designate their interest to “follow-up” with a certain topic to either be part of a Interest-Group (which would provide them with updates on the progress of the topics, ability to comment on any deliverables produced, etc. so essentially a newsletter of sorts). We would also like members to be able to designate whether they are interested in becoming involved in the development of a current topic, either as a member or as a funder. We would like a way for this information to be stored for us to access and follow-up with these individuals but we also want to give members the opportunity to navigate flexibly around the topics.

So for example, upon registering and creating a profile there would be a function that would allow members to choose what topics they are interested in “following-up” with and becoming more closely involved. I think it would make sense for members to do this within their individual profiles but also while browsing through all the topics. Within each static topic-page it would be helpful to include a short section of “How to become involved” that would allow them to check off what role they are interested in, which can hopefully be updated on their profile. We hope the profile includes the member contact and affiliation information as well as a dashboard of all the topics they are following.

Is this possible or do you know any plugins to achieve this?
