• I find myself running into this error message at least once when I finish setting up a WordPress site. The error reads like this:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home/jazminem/public_html/wp-content/themes/expositio/index.php on line 46

yet there is no such ‘<‘ error on the line 46. In previous experience this error goes away after a couple days but I really hate having to wait for the error to fix itself, how can I make this go away?

    Hi j_dilla!

Does this happen if you deactivate all your plugins? Have you tried switching themes to see if it could be the theme causing the issue?

    Hi Jose,

Ya the other themes seem to work, but this is the second time this is happening and I haven’t touched the code. I’m wondering what glitch goes off as one day it seems fine and then suddenly it has this error.

    Thanks!

It sounds like the theme is doing something odd. Have you tried contacting the theme’s author about it?
