WP creating folders?

  • My latest update saw some VERY unusual activity: WordPress is intermittently creating folders on its own, based on the permalinks – it’s only doing to two pages, but it’s maddening, as it instantly causes those two pages to be inaccessible many times throughout the day, every day. I’ve been manually deleting the folders as they appear. Obviously, I can’t keep doing that. Any hints?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
