Site is unable to retreive information from the files and folders

  • Hi,
    So my site whitescreened, can’t even access my dashboard. I have disabled all the plugins and themes using filezilla but still no change. I contacted my host and they replied saying

    “Your site is unable to retreive information from the files and folders.

    You may want to convert your Web Application install to a manual install and update your WordPress installation then.”

    Anybody know what might be causing this? I haven’t changed anything on my site or updated anything recently.

    What are the latest entries in the web server’s error logs indicating? (Sometimes they give a clue of warnings or errors.)

    For example open the “/var/log/apache2/error.log” file with a text editor, and look at the latest few messages?

    The second one is repeated a few times throughout the day.

    Hi! Thanks for finding/reporting those error.log output strings.

    I’d guess that the first one would be more likely to be a cause of a whitescreen. So perhaps a good next step would to be google for that and see who else got a similar error and see if/how they fixed it? So maybe google the whole error or part of it? Like maybe google/bing search for:
    PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time exceeded in /htdocs/wp-includes/class-http.php

    Let us know how you go?
