Unable to load images – using sub directory

  • I’ve been chipping away at my issue for days now and it’s time to call in help.
    I’m running a wordpress site from a sub directory (as it’s currently still being built.) I currently have a landing page on the live site.
    Prior to updating up to 4.3.1, it was going well.
    As well as being unable to load images – the error telling me the usual ‘cannot upload – try again later’, it is doing something really strange – when trying to load an image, the landing page will open! Very strange since it’s not even in the same directory!
    I’ve reinstalled a clean version of wp, checked permissions, plugins, space usage etc, checked many, many forums and I’m now at my wits end with this issue.

    Theme is Ultra premium (no plugins activated)

    Can anyone maybe help shed light on this please?
