[Plugin: W3 Total Cache] Cache Preload Only Works Once?

  • When the update interval is reached (currently set to 1800 seconds / 30 minutes), all pages that were previously cached to HTML are renamed to .old, and no new ones are generated until somebody happens to visit that page.

    If I restart Apache, the entire preload process will immediately execute.

    Interestingly, I just noticed that everything was cleared at 3:15. At precisely 3:30, the preload started.

    Does anybody have any technical insight as to how the cache preload feature actually works / is supposed to work?
