Having real problems configuring my .htaccess

  • I’ve been trying to sort this out for weeks, so any help would be SO much appreciated!

    Anyway, I’m trying to configure my Permalinks to display in the following format:

    /news/070%post_id%/%postname%.html

    I know my host supports mod rewrite, but I’m just not sure what code I need to insert into my .htaccess to get the links to work. At the moment, I’m just getting 404 error messages.

  • If you copy & paste that exact line of code into the custom permalink structure on the Options>Permalinks page, it will work.

    /news/070%post_id%/%postname%.html

    No need to manually edit the .htaccess file.
