Hello, in my first attempt to edit the CSS and disable animation in the Colorway theme by Inkthemes my site completely disappeared. I had commented out the line in the functions.php with /* /* as this screenshot shows: https://screenpresso.com/=hkbHd and as I tried to navigate to another page, that’s when the site went white (nothing loads).

I can only see a white screen load for any page of my site, including admin in google chrome, but the homepage loads when I switch to firefox. So, I can’t get back to anything to edit the site and I don’t believe I have an FTP. I’ve also cleared cache and cookies, but it doesn’t seem to help.

    My website is https://www.thenextbigjump.com

  • Did you actually use /*/* or did you use //? To comment out a single line, you use // (the latter). If you used the former, then what you are doing is adding in two open comment tags without any closing comment tag (*/), so you’re generating a pretty bad syntax error.

Let’s try to get your site back to its original condition, first. If you don’t know how to use FTP, do you know how to use your host’s control panel? What you might want to do is take an original copy of the theme’s functions.php file and replace the file that you modified. It would be located in a folder called /wp-content/themes/colorway.

Thanks, I did comment out the line incorrectly as you’ve said. I found the CPANEL from my site’s host, but I’m not sure where to go from there. I use Bluehost if that helps you give me a little more information on where to edit the functions.php file.

Thank you for your help. I was able to get into the file manager of the CPANEL from my webhost and edit out the incorrect commenting from the functions.php file. The site is now loading properly and I can access admin.
