On my frontpage only posts from one category is being displayed in the carousel even though I have choosen to take posts from four categories.

I am using the setting below:

    [wp_posts_carousel template=”light.css” post_type=”post” all_items=”10″ show_only=”id” posts=”” ordering=”asc” categories=”1,2,3,4″ tags=”” show_title=”true” show_created_date=”true” show_description=”Excerpt” allow_shortcodes=”false” show_category=”true” show_tags=”false” show_more_button=”false” show_featured_image=”false” image_source=”thumbnail” image_height=”100″ image_width=”100″ items_to_show=”1″ slide_by=”1″ margin=”5″ loop=”true” auto_play=”true” stop_on_hover=”true” auto_play_timeout=”1200″ nav=”true” nav_speed=”800″ dots=”true” dots_speed=”800″ lazy_load=”false” mouse_drag=”true” mouse_wheel=”true” touch_drag=”true” easing=”linear”]

and only post from ctaegory four is displayed. Have a look here:

I am wondering if the query only looks at created date and not published date since I have manually migrated the posts into the DB, could that be the problem?

you chose only 10 items ordering by the ID ASCending, so everything looks good.
If you want to sort by date, please select “newest” from “show” option and change ordering to DESC.

Aha, the problem was a typo in the UI when you insert the carousel, it says “Newset” and I did not know what that option meant ??

Thanks for your prompt feedback, it works as intented now.
