Hi, I am testing your plugin, it is great and – at least until now- bug free.
Please notice that I am still running the free version for a few more weeks, before I activate my new borning Company (to buy the full plugin, a VAT is required in the process).

I have found only 3 apparently weak points at the moment; I would like to talk about them with you, may be these are just limits of the demo version.

    1. Professional printing works in CMYK, but the output pdf by TCPDF is set in RGB. It is not a good solution to convert the pdf output files with my pc after downloading it, since for an instance, a bright acid green or a vivid blue are fantastic in RGB on monitor, but disgusting in CMYK and not printable. The customer will make a stunningly coloured project, but will get wrong colours on his item! The colour table/picker shows in fact RGB values and the user can’t digit his CMYK colour values.

    2. The “design from blank” output file doesn’t get the final size from the project: I get a large image with the project placed somewhere in the middle. It would be necessary to set the output size in the dashboard settings for each project, if possible.

    3. There is a boring grey area on the left and on the right of the design area. this area is also present in the output images. Can I remove it totally? Another necessary adjustment would be the last pixel in the bottom of the design area: it is lost out, but I think this is easily correctable via css by myself.

    The website is: https://www.studiograficoitaliano.it

and my first customizable product is:

    Thanks

    Regards

1- Yes we implemented the CMYK conversion in the pro version but in that require imagick (a php extension).

2-In the pro version you have the ability to set the output width but the project will always be in the same place it was on the design area. Or am i missing something?

3-Can you provide a screenshot of the grey area you’re referring to?

    1. this is a good news! can I know more details about the imagick extension, please? it’s vital for me to get only CMYK colors in the output if I want to print the files.

    2. to be clearer, I attach the image of the output page:
    https://www.studiograficoitaliano.it/output.jpg
I can only choose a standard size from a list, in WPD>Settings>Output. The project here is a business card, mm. 90×60. The output gives me a large image, mm. 211,875×141,111, placed as shown on a B3 sized page. I will need a page size inherited from the correct template project size.

    3. Here a screenshot of the area where I find the grey stripes. https://www.studiograficoitaliano.it/stripes.png
I noticed these stripes exist only in the png (and not in the PDF), so that they are not a big problem afterall; but it would be nice to disallow them to appear anyway.

    Thanks

    1- https://php.net/manual/en/book.imagick.php

2- The size of the PDF output is different from the image itself. The size of the image (which will be included in the PDF) is editable only in the pro version. And we also have the SVG output feature.

3-Stripes: Are you using the overlay image included in the design? If so, thy will always be included in the output…

    1. Oh my god, there is extremely nerdy stuff there. I will try to understand the contents and install this toy for my little php, thanks.

    2. Interesting, even if a custom pdf size per template is better almost for all possible uses in my opinion; it would be great to get the PDF size directly from the template size, at least for professional printing. But this is only my personal point of view, take it just as a suggestion for a possible future feature if you like.

    3. I don’t know why, but I can’t remove those strips from the sides. I have only:
    a) a transparent PNG with bleed lines placed as overlay (not included in the design);
    b) a plain white JPG background (included in design) to avoid transparent parts in the output;
    c) the same transparent PNG file as a), set as “non-included” background layer, since this layer seems necessary for the customization process (am I wrong?).
All 3 files are sized 90×60 mm at 300 dpi. Opening the png in Photoshop, I find that these areas, despite their grey colour, are transparent.
I don’t know, but I may tolerate them, they don’t disturb so much. But you know, it tickles my brian!

If you like, you can try by yourself here:
    https://www.studiograficoitaliano.it/grafica-online/design/577/

You’ll see that if you add a shape or text, you can enlarge it in the left and right external areas, where the grey (transparent) stripes appear on the png output images. Try to download a part from the design page if you want to see the malicious grey stripes.

Ah… how can I view the parts’ names (“front”, “back” and so on…) under the thumbnails in the frontend interface, please?

1- Yes it’s a bit technical but a server admin should understand because that’s right in their area of expertise.

2-Yes i see the point but not all users want a PDF. Some want to control the dimension of the image generated, some others want to control both…

    3-Can you open a ticket at help.orionorigin.com?

    Ok, many thanks!
    I opened a ticket.

The stuff contacted me 3 days ago with a simple solution for my issue.
My max canvas size was 800×500 pixels, while my template files were 90×60 mm.
I changed the vanvas size into 90×60 so that it is now proportionally correct to fit into the canvas size.

    It worked perfectly for me.
Now I need a 6 stars option to vote for this plugin.

Haha :). A 5 stars will just do the trick ??
