• Hi gang, im hoping someone can help me out with the below error.

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 4194304 bytes) in /home/viralworldnews/public_html/wp-includes/post.php on line 434

This is a dedicated server, none of my other sites have had any issues with this error.

The error happens while simply trying to activate a plugin.

    Thanks for your assistance

If the above does not help, try increasing memory available for php.

Otherwise, here are three ways to increase PHP’s memory allocation:

    1. If you can edit or override the system php.ini file, increase the memory limit. For example, memory_limit = 128M

    2. If you cannot edit or override the system php.ini file, add php_value memory_limit 128M to your .htaccess file.

    3. If neither of these work, it’s time to ask your hosting provider to temporarily increase PHP’s memory allocation on your account.

(in the above examples, the limit is set to 128MB)
