Categories’ options

  • I have updated WordPress and my theme so I can use widgets. They’re supposed to make layouting easier, but there’re some options that I am missing.

    Before widgets I could put some variables into categories tags in order to display categories’ feed, to exclude some categories… (following codex’s instructions) but now I don’t know how can I do that now. I have seen widget’s options but (refering to categories) there’s only an option to display number of posts and hiearchy, but nothing about displaying feed’s icon with a feed’s link, nor any option not to display certain categories.

    Can anyone help me?

  • I’ve been trying to get a response on this for some time with no luck. I’ve had a little success with modifying the wp_widget_category_control function but this is a rough hack and I haven’t been able to make work fully. I too would like to exclude certain categories in the widgets. Good luck and if you have any success, please post. I will do the same.
