    Yesterday WordPress Updated the Database

As a result all my pages have disappeared in the pages section in my WordPress interface. The main menu has also disappeared.

The links still work, i.e. they are in the database. I have temporarily fixed them by creating a new main menu using the link extensions, but of course I want to fix the core issue and get my pages overview back in my pages section. I presume it has something to do with an incorrect connection between WordPress and the database?

My media files also seem to have disappeared, however they do still function on the website even after a cache clean.

Here is a screenshot (https://www.stevia1931.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/wordpress-error-28-09-2015.jpg) with errors I got after the update.

Any thoughts on how to properly fix this issue?

Thanks for your quick reply. I don’t think so. I keep up with all updates.

well, that screenshot is saying that you’ve got database tables that don’t exist so if you’ve got access to the hosting account you can run a repair process on the database to see if the tables are there but corrupted.

as for the actual content, all of your media (pics, audio, vids etc) are stored in a folder so if that’s still on the server then they’re safe. the content of your posts (text and links etc) is however stored in the database and if those tables really have gone, unless your hosting has a backup they can restore for you, are really gone…

    Hi Jack,

Thanks again. Can you run a repair on a database?

The good news is, I see all my content is in the database. For example I see our projects page in the database and the link still works: https://stevia1931.com/projects. It just doesn’t appear in the pages overview in WordPress https://www.stevia1931.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/pages.jpg.

in that case, before you try check/repair the database, try reverting back to the default theme that comes with wordpress and see if the images come back. if they do then your theme is playing up…

    Hi Jack,

Just discovered that my pages now appear under post. Anyway have gone for the manual work around. Pretty much fixed now. Gave me a good opportunity to clear my database out as well.

Thanks for your help and quick feedback.
