PayPal Buttons?

I am currently using the theme “Hueman” on WordPress, and while the website is not supposed to be a store, I do want a few items on there to sell. So, I created a PayPal “buy now” button, yet when I put the code into the box (in text) and then change it to visual, and click publish, it doesn’t allow you to click on the button to “buy now”, it just shows up as an image, and the button itself won’t let you click on it, but it will allow you to “search this image through Google” aka showing up as an image rather than something you can click on. It won’t take you to PayPal either. Why is this? Does your website have to be e-commerce to have PayPal “buy now” buttons? How can I stick with that specific theme, and add something to allow people to buy through PayPal, and what do I add?
