SMTP connect() failed using Google with 'enable less secure apps' enabled.

I’m having an SMTP connect() failed issue when I try to send an email with Gmail configured. I’ve already updated my gmail settings to ‘enable less secure apps’. outgoing SMTP: smtp.gmail.com
port 465
SSLAny advice?
