    Hello,
upgraded wp and now am having issues with emoji. I tried all methods I could find for fixing this but having issues. The great work of you wizards have produced the plugins classic-smilies and disable-emojis plus the code fixes listed in many forums. Great work! My problems that as soon as I apply any of these fixes, the site loads “themeless” or what looks like an xml of the site.
I am a noob, and have no background and know I am missing something, or have inadvertently removed/changed something i should not have. The theme developer is unhelpful. Any advice?
Without the fixes I get a strip of the emoji css at the top and it will not load in a lot of browsers including chrome and i.e.

This has occurred after moving site to the final domain and it was during this process I did the upgrade. I have the site behind a maintenance page as a result so not sure how to post a url. (Can set up a user and pass) I have placed a couple screen captures here.

Issue was actually favicon / site identity conflict.
Fooled by the css into to looking there.
