Main site does not work. Change page public_html directory

    I am not sure if this is the right forum area, sorry if I am wrong, but please help me.

    The problem
    I have installed WordPress 4.3.1 to filezilla and the wordpress website, I can access sitename.com/wp-admin/ and have that set up. The problem is, I can’t get to the main site for example:

    sitename.com
    Gives me the screen saying: To change this page, upload your website into the public_html directory

    sitename.com/pagename/
    it works fine.
