PHP fatal error

    Hi – I noticed that my sync stopped working recently. On trying to sync manually I received a 504 Timeout error. My host support was able to identify this and gave me the following information: Hey there Doug,

    I was for sure able to recreated this issue. The Campaign Monitor Synchronization is indeed throwing a PHP Fatal error according to your error logs:

    PHP Fatal error: Error making request with curl_error:

    Operation timed out after 10001 milliseconds with 0 bytes received in /nas/wp/www/cluster-40251/fcptalent/wp-content/plugins/campaign-monitor-synchronization/campaignmonitor-createsend-php/class/transport.php on line 158
    My guess is the API connection to Campaign Monitor is failing during this request. You would need to forward this error on to their support since they will they full context on why this would be happening.

    Let us know what they find and if there is anything they need our servers to be configured to allow these syncs to be processed.

    Hi, how many users do you have?

    It is a common complaint we get, but there is not much we can do. It simply meant that the Campaign Monitor API takes >10 seconds to respond, and that your server has a time-out set to 10 seconds.

    Maybe the internet connection is slow, or CM has a bad day.

    I have discussed this issue with Campaign Monitor helpdesk and basically they say: if these questions annoy you we can remove your plugin from our website if you wish.

    My plugin uses the API provided by Campaign Monitor so there is really nothing I can do to improve the performance.
