Lately several users reported compatibility issues between Black Studio TinyMCE Widget and Page Builder by SiteOrigin.
At the time of writing, we are not aware of any compatibility issue with the current versions of the plugins Black Studio TinyMCE Widget v.2.2.7 and Page Builder v.2.2. We keep in touch with the developers of Page Builder, and they also are not aware of any compatibility problem.

This topic is aimed to collect additional information about possible issues in a centralized way, and to help people get their sites fully operational.

If you are experiencing problems when using Black Studio TinyMCE Widget (Visual Editor widget) inside Page Builder, please try the following operations. We recommend you to take a backup before doing any action.

    • Please ensure that you are running the latest versions of WordPress (4.3.1) and the plugins Black Studio TinyMCE Widget (2.2.7) and Page Builder (2.2). If not, update as first.
    • Please ensure that Black Studio TinyMCE Widget is working fine outside of Page Builder, specifically in Widgets administration panel and in Customizer.
    • Please ensure that TinyMCE editor works fine on your site, i.e. when editing pages/post without Page Builder (you may also disable Black Studio TinyMCE Widget to perform this check)
    • Try to uninstall both plugins and reinstall them from scratch (data won’t be lost).
    • Try to temporarily switch to another theme.
    • Try to temporarily switch to english language in WordPress administration (only if you’re using a language other than english).
    • Try to disable all other plugins except those two and check if the problem is fixed. In that case enable the other plugins one by one and figure out which one is causing the issue. Please see Conflict Diagnosis Guide for WordPress plugins for further info.
    • Try to disable Black Studio TinyMCE Widget and install the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle plugin, which provides an alternative visual editor widget (it’s called SiteOrigin Editor), and check if that works.
    • Try to use a different browser.
    • Try to enable SCRIPT_DEBUG and check your browser’s javascript console. Further info in the CODEX.
    • Try to reinstall WordPress core files from the Dashoboard – Updates screen (no data will be lost)
    • Try to download a fresh WordPress core package, extract the folder wp-includes/js/tinymce and replace the one you have on your site (fix suggested by a user, who said resolved).

If you’re still having issues after trying all of the above actions, please reply to this topic, and provide as much information as possible (themes / plugins / browsers you use, js errors detected, screenshots, etc).

If your problem is not related to Page Builder, please open a separate topic.

  • I’ll also keep an eye on this thread to see if there’s anything we can use to diagnose the issue on Page Builder.

I have the same issue. Can it be because I cleaned up disk space and de-fragmented? If so, what am I missing?

@gpoverchuk I don’t think it could be a disk issue. Please go through the above mentioned steps and try.

had the same issue using sydney template and the following plugins:
    – Black Studio TinyMCE Widget
    – Page Builder by SiteOrigin
    – SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle
    AND
    – Responsive Background Image

as soon as I deactivate “Responsive Background Image plugin” then it works fine; when its activated, then it doesn’t work

    hope this helps …

btw: I used german as default language; changed back to english and had the same problem…

    Hi,

It is definitely a compatibility issue between the TinyMCE widget installed and the Site Origin Editor.

Whe I replaced all the “tinyMCE widgets” with the “site origin editor”, I was able to save the postdata again.

So no I have to replace all the these widgets by the other ones. Great.

And again. I also uninstalled the “site origin editor” and the content in the tinymce widget is NOT saved.

This is the page setting that shows the tool bar that I need….Also showing TXT/Visual

This is my site, same setting and no tool bar to be seen…Mine is showing hTM<L/Visual and no tool bar…
how can I get the txt tap (with tool bar)

Thank you Marco for the tips
    Checked all my plugins…
Followed instructions and am a bit disillusioned

I don’t know whether I’m experiencing any compatibility issues w/the SO builder & tineMCE, per se, but it seems that if I write a <section> tag in one builder row, tinyMCE closes the tag in that same row, same panel, which means my section cannot be any larger than a single row.

I’ve already disabled WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically in Options > Writing. There’s no mention of auto-closing html tags in the documentation for either plugin, so…please advise?

    thx

I am using black studio on two different sites with WordPress 4.3.1.
    both have similar plugins.
    i am using Chrome.
in one site i am able to see tool bar while using visual editor but on the other it is not showing anything
tried to disable almost all plugins, remove and re install but still same issue
    am i missing something?

On my WP Ii have the Black Studio TinyMCE Widget and Page Builder by SiteOrigin.

Hi – I’m having the same problems with the visual/text editor. I always use Black Studio TinyMCE Widget on every website I make and have never had a problem. This is the first time I have used it together with the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle and Page Builder by Site Origin.

I have done all of the suggested fixes: disabled all plugins, changed theme to 2015; re-installed WordPress; enabled SCRIPT_DEBUG and followed the instructions in the Codex post. It said if this “fixed” the problem, then to disable it and report the problem to the support forum (which I have done last night) but I have had no response.

Can you please offer any other suggestions – I am supposed to launch this site over the weekend. Thanks.

Had the same issue…. i reinstalled all plugins and theme again and it worked! i’m lucky today!

using accespress theme and the conflict seemed with revolution slider.

I am using all the most updated versions of WordPrss, SiteBuilder, and Black Studio. I have a problem with every site that uses these two plugins. Here is what happens, I’d love to know if anyone else is having this issue, it really wastes a lot of my time. I will work on a site and add a row and widget (Visual Editor widget with SiteBuilder) and add it somewhere on a page. Then later (maybe the next task I do, or it could be days or weeks later) I will add another widget somewhere else (for instance, I just finished adding all the next I needed on a home page using several different rows and each row contains an instance of Visual Editor and then I went to Widgets and added a Visual editor to a footer widget with the site name and address; when I viewed the page it looked fine, then I browsed to a different page on the site and the widget I just added with the address was gone and one of the rows/visual editor content was in it’s place). This happens to me far too often. The only way to fix it is to remove the widget completely and then add it back again from scratch – you cannot simply add it to inactive widgets and then add it back – my original content is completely gone and has been replaced with the content of a different widget. I read through this thread and I’m not going to try using the SiteOrigian Editor instead of the Visual editor and see if that helps – nothing else has worked. Yes, I’ve tried all of the above fixes – this happens on every single site where I’m using these plugins – over 30 different sites, different themes, different combinations of other plugins, etc.
