• Hi,

This issue has already been raised – the topic is marked as ‘Resolved’ but it clearly isn’t, so I am posting again…

I have created my API key and I am getting the following error:

Error type: “Forbidden”. Error message: “There is a per-IP or per-Referer restriction configured on your API key and the request does not match these restrictions. Please use the Google Developers Console to update your API key configuration if request from this IP or referer should be allowed.” Domain: “usageLimits”. Reason: “ipRefererBlocked”.

Did you added your own Google API key? Look at the help.

Check in YouTube if the id sambagalez belongs to a username.

There is indeed a per-referer restriction, limited to our domain, but seeing as in this error the Domain is shown as “usageLimits” it appears there may be an issue with either the API itself or the request sent from YTCG, which seems most likely.

Anyone have any ideas how we can solve this issue?

    Thank you
    Matt

  • I’m having the same problem. Have entered the API key, have set our domain as an approved referer, and still getting this error. Very frustrating.

    Hi claridgematt

This is not an issue about the plugin, it is about the API key. Try to configure your api key without referer and if your API works correctly you have configured wrong the referer. Maybe you need to put * (*midomain.com/*). If your api key is not working after delete the referer you should delete the api key a create another one.

I have tried configuring the api key with and without a referrer and it fails in both cases.

I’ve also tried recreating the api key from scratch, all to no avail.

I’m struggling to believe this is an issue with the api key as so many plugin users are seeing the problem.

Maybe I will try to find a different plugin and see if that generates the same errors…

    Same problem here
